Tax-smart generosity
More ways to make your gift count.
Some giving methods may offer tax advantages while putting more resources to work for New Mexico's small dogs. Your financial or tax adviser can help determine what is right for you.
01Give from your IRA
If you are age 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) sent directly from an eligible IRA may be excluded from taxable income and may count toward your required minimum distribution.
For 2026, the federal QCD limit is $111,000 per eligible individual. A QCD is not also claimed as a charitable deduction.02Give appreciated assets
A direct gift of qualifying appreciated stock or other property may offer advantages compared with selling the asset first, depending on your circumstances and the type of property.
Contact LDRNM before initiating a transfer so we can provide current receiving instructions and identify your gift.03Recommend a DAF grant
If you have a donor-advised fund, you may recommend a grant to Lap Dog Rescue of New Mexico through your fund sponsor.
Ask your sponsor to include your name and contact information so we can thank you properly. For your IRA custodian
